Travel: Coming Home to Florida

Well, we are back in the US, more specifically, back to Florida!  It was a long day of travel from Nice airport, through New York's JFK airport and a change of planes, before arriving to Ft. Lauderdale airport after 11pm!  We had a car service meet us and the drive home was smooth enough to catch "40 winks"!  Following day we were all charged up and unpacking took priority.
That being done, we puttered about cleaning bits here and there and made sure we were ready for lunch at our favorite place: Duffy's!  We'd been thinking about their burgers for the week before coming home - can you believe it?  We wanted a burger!  Ah....now that's a burger!
Within the week we had cooked up "Gene's Ratatouille" and '"Nanny's Chicken Soup".  The freezer is filling up again with meal size portions after cooking up large batches of each.  (Today we are making "Dad's Spaghetti Sauce" which will yield several servings for a few Sundays to come!)  During the week we saw the sign that our little Village of Tequesta was having a "green market" on Saturday from 9am - 12n at the local park.  We decided to go and support our local community.  Constitution Park, where the green market is held, is just one of the many reasons we love Tequesta...we've been here over 20 years!  The park hosts many events during the year including "open air movies"; the activities center offers classes in Tai-chi, fencing, ballet for children, yoga and tennis for all levels.  (www.tequesta.org)  I've posted some pictures of the green market under the PHOTOS tab.  We had a nice morning at the market, enjoying the wonderful duo singing some great tunes as we shopped for some "fresh from the garden" veggies.  We were happy to see that our bread fella was still there:  a young baker (late teens? early 20s?) selling his baked goods..."Breads by Johnny".
It's a short post today, still working on Part 2 of the trip to Scotland...that will be forthcoming with lots of photos!  Don't forget to check out the PHOTOS tab - and how about the VGL Cookbook for "Nanny's chicken Soup"!
Until next week, stay well and take the time to enjoy!
