Real Estate: Southern France

Real estate on the Cote d'Azur is expensive - almost NYC or London prices....but it is no wonder since this is where the rich and famous (and the not so rich and famous) like to come to play and dine!
Newer apartments are small and the older ones generally have a bit more room but fall short on outdoor space. But there are always exceptions! Try browsing thru this website www.NextHome.com The details are in both French and English. Apartment or home sizes are measured in square meters: 68m2 = 748sf The math: 68 x10 +10% = 748 or 680+68=748 Also, a T2 is a one bedroom apartment; it is a given that you have a kitchen, so the living room and bedroom are counted only. T3=2bedroom etc. etc. Have some fun looking at the pictures. I love looking at real estate, wondering how much a place would cost if you wanted to live there...I don't want to live everywhere, but I like to know...just in case!
Have just come back from a mini-road trip to Languedoc-Rousillon area, the towns of Narbonne and Cap d'Agde. Big difference in the price of properties from Cote d'Azur to there. What an small 2 bedroom apartment sells for here can easily buy a modern contemporary home, close to the beach (in the Adge area) or a beautiful village home in the Narbonne area - and they are goregous. You could choose from center of village apartments to lovely homes just outside of town, or perhaps a beachside place to call home, maybe a small village offering quaint houses or grand mansions. No matter what you wish for, there is something for everyone. And needless to say, the cuisine is delicious and the wine is abundant everywhere! You can search http://www.rightmove.co.uk/overseas-property-for-sale/Narbonne.html. You can search this British real estate site for properties in the UK and elsewhere including France and Spain. Have fun.....
