Where We Stayed: Dusseldorf, Germany

A short taxi ride from the airport (10 minutes?/15 euros +/-) and you've arrived at the Hilton Dusseldorf (http://www3.hilton.com/en/hotels/north-rhine-westphalia/hilton-dusseldorf-DUSHITW/index.html). The reception staff (English speaking) are professional, friendly and very helpful. The rooms are large and modern, with comfortable beds, and a nice bathroom. One can opt to dine in room, or Max restaurant or the lobby lounge. (See my comments under "Where we Ate".) They also have a business center on the main level. In addition, the hotel offers an Executive Level Lounge; the lounge is available to rooms booked on the Executive Level. It's is an excellent place to start the day or relax after one and the attending staff are top notch. Taxis are available at the hotel's entrance. A short 5 minute walk is the tram into the city center. Less than 10 minutes from the hotel is the Rhine: walk to the south towards town (15-20 minute walk along the park/river's edge) or bike to the north 6 miles to the town of Kaierswerth passing fields of golden wheat and hay. (Bikes are available at the hotel) We've been guests at the hotel in the past and are already looking forward to our return next summer.
