Travel Talk: Prague and then....

Well, I have not been very good about writing the blog....but I have loads of info to share on what's been happening since we arrived!
Our friends from Florida came to visit for 2 weeks....after a few days here we took a quick flight (just over an hour!) to Prague, Czech Republic
Old Town Prague
What a beautiful city! The architecture was a step back in time but the vibe was cool and upbeat. Needless to say the food was not only delicious, but it was hearty! The choice in beers was almost endless. The friendliest people we've met so far - from the hotel personnel to the waitstaff at restaurants to the guides at the cultural centers - everyone was so gracious. It's a city young at heart, where there are many students and English is widely spoken...that said, put Prague on your list of places to visit!
A few days back in France and we drove over to Italy....only a 40 minute drive! We arrived early to Ventimiglia for their weekly flea market. Aside from the food market which is open and held every day under a covered roof, the weekly flea market is something to behold....it can take over 3 hours to just to browse all the different vendors: leather handbags, leather gloves, clothing, shoes, toys, sunglasses, scarves (wool, silk, blends, etc), linens, curtains, rugs...I can go on and on! After a good "once over", it's time for lunch - seaside restaurant looking back at France. It's amazing that a simple 40 minute drive brings a new culture, another language and different food! Jumping from country to country, language to language really keeps you on your toes!
View of Old Antibes from atop Anthea Center
Speaking of "toes", a new cultural center, "Anthea", has just been completed nearby and the rooftop cafe offers some of the best views around! Just before the ballet, we went up for wine and "nibbles"... look at the view of Old Antibes, the marina and sea! Below are links for Prague's Tourist Information and Antibes' "Anthea".
