Travel: Day Trip - A Garden Lunch at Home!

Tuesday was one of those days when I just wanted to be home.  These past few weeks we've been busy sorting through the list of things we need to bring back home: chocolates, specialty mustards, soaps and a favorite olive oil.  We traveled to towns and villages and "walked-off" many a lunch enjoyed while shopping in those towns and villages.  Friday we were in Cannes to buy our Nespresso coffee and window shop along the many streets. On Sunday we took a long walk (6 miles) along the promenade at Cagnes-Sur-Mer.  Monday we took a two hour seaside walk in Antibes - and the weather was delightful for walking.  It was even more enjoyable since most of the shops are closed on Mondays and there are few people about town.  We were surprised, then, to find a tour group suddenly appear!  The voices were all American...and we smiled.  When we walked along the old town's ramparts we could see a cruise ship in the distance at Nice.  (We didn't think a ship would be in Cannes, since it was the last day of their boat show.)  Which brings me back to the opening line:  I just wanted to be home!  The simple but delicious lunch was prepared by my husband...sometimes, the simplest meals are the best - especially when they are lovingly prepared and lovingly shared!
