Travel: Day Trip to Cannes, France

Cannes Beach with Famous Croisette Hotel behind palms
Cannes conjures up images of movie stars, beaches and the lifestyle of the rich and famous.  And Cannes is exactly all that...famous hotels (the Martinez and the Carlton) play host to dozens of celebrities during the Cannes Film Festival held each May.  Excluding those 2 weeks of celebrity mayhem, the city of Cannes is pleasure to walk around...it has an Old Town, a pedestrian shopping street (where the not-so-rich-and-famous can afford to shop) filled with interesting boutiques selling
LaDuree - Famous for heavenly macarons!
everything from soaps and sundresses, to shoes and ready-made food for take-out.  Another long avenue running parallel, offers shoppers yet another choice in spending their money.  This is where we indulge:  we buy our macarons at LaDuree!  They are so light, so delicate, so delicious - it is really a special treat.

A short stroll from there is the Nespresso Boutique; this is coffee heaven. All sorts of coffee machines and so many varying degrees of good, flavorful (not bitter) coffee.  We've been hooked on Nespresso coffee for over 7 years.  The rest of our stroll is spent admiring gorgeous window displays of all the famous "names"!  oh la la!(see Photos)
